Off-site backup
Most practices carry a significant book debt. Losing that information means losing the ability to follow up on money owed - a costly disaster. Proper backups are vital to your economic security.
Unfortunately, backups are done poorly by many practices and generally the failure is only noticed in an emergency. Fortunately, Bluebird has the solution.
An inexpensive, incremental, secure backup to off-site servers managed by Bluebird.
BBBB takes away the pain by:
- Including a second hard-drive so that data is mirrored locally.
- Backing up your data each night to a remote site
If your BlueBird BlackBox (BBBB) was stolen, Bluebird can restore your data and ship you a new BBBB.
Remote backup for 3rd parties:
Bluebird also offers remote backup for 3rd party practice management systems
and EMRs.
If the practice uses Bluebird's WebService, there is a 50%
discount in the monthly fee (see pricing page).
- This fee is payable 6 months in advance (it is too onerous to collect such a small amount each month)
- You need to specify, by email, the directory that must be backed up, as well as a contact email address
- The fee covers 1 Gig of data which is sufficient for most practices, thereafter pricing is per Gig
- If you change the computer or directory to be backed up, a set up fee will be incurred
- Restoring to the original directory on the original PC is offered without charge, restoring to a different site will incur a charge
- You are responsible for shutting down your software each evening so that the backup can occur
- You are responsible for ensuring internet access so that the backup can occur (we will try to notify you by email if a nightly back up fails)
